A Sparkling Start to the Summer:

Our Rose Paterson Gallery Private View

What a fantastic afternoon we had on Saturday 5th July for the private view of our much-anticipated Summer Show, at the beautiful Rose Paterson Gallery! It was a truly wonderful celebration of creativity and community, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the turnout.

The gallery was abuzz with energy, laughter and enthusiastic conversations. It was so heartening to see so many familiar faces, as well as plenty of new ones, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. The Rose Paterson Gallery, with its inviting space, truly shone, providing the perfect backdrop for our members’ incredible work. Guests mingled, chatted and admired the diverse array of pieces, all whilst enjoying a refreshing glass of elderflower – a perfect compliment to a warm summer afternoon!

And what an exhibition it is! From vibrant paintings to sculptures, ceramics and powerful photography. The variety and quality of work on display from our talented members was simply exceptional. Each piece told a story, showcased immense skill, and contributed to a really cohesive and inspiring collection. It is a true testament to the diverse talents within our membership.

Whilst every artwork deserved its moment, I must admit I found myself particularly drawn to Ron Law’s sketchbooks. There’s something incredibly intimate and revealing about seeing an artist’s thought process laid bare. Ron’s sketchbooks offered a fascinating glimpse into his creative journey – the initial sparks of ideas, the quick studies, the evolution of concepts. They were a true highlight and a profound reminder of the dedicated work behind every polished piece.

An event and exhibition like this doesn’t just happen, and we owe a massive debt of gratitude to our incredible exhibition team. Their hard work, dedication and keen eye for detail in curating and installing the show, ensured everything looked absolutely spectacular. Thank you for making such a seamless and successful event!
