PROTESTS AT THREAT TO WALSALL GALLERY

Bigger named artists, prestigious gallery and theatre directors are having their say about the proposed closure of the New Gallery, Walsall.

Grayson Perry , the well known artist (above), and Alex Farquharson, the director of the  Tate Britain, are just two of the thirty plus people who have written an open letter to the Guardian newspaper expressing their concern regarding the proposed closure of the gallery.

They write, ‘It’s closure would be a devastating blow to the life of the community and send a signal that the authorities have no regard for the value of the arts to those very communities.’
