Faces Flora and Fauna

14th April – 6th July

In the Coffee Lounge

Artists – Simon Tew & Elizabeth Whitehouse

Elizabeth Whitehouse

Elizabeth Whitehouse A contemporary painter based in the West Midlands, Elizabeth is passionate about representing the human form. It is fascinating how the slightest change of a brushstroke can alter the facial expression and therefore the mood of a painting.

Elizabeth’s love for all things vintage fuels her fascination with the social histories behind everyday items. Her work reflects snippets of happy nostalgia, blending the charm of vintage fashion with dynamic facial expressions and poses.

The Handbags and the Gladrags

Simon Tew

Simon Tew paints animals so that you can see every hair standing on end, their eyes follow you, and you can feel their breath on your skin. Completely self taught he feels compelled to paint, “When I see something from the animal kingdom displaying its agility, power, majesty and beauty I just have an innate desire to paint these subjects making them as realistic as I possibly can.”
