ARTISTS OF THE FUTURE?

ART AT FIBBERSLEY PARK ACADEMY

How lovely to be invited into a school, as members of WSA,  where Art is obviously a highly rated subject on the curriculum.

We were asked to judge the children’s art work which was exhibited around the school.

The whole school, from Early Years to Year 6, had been on an adventure to the Severn Valley Railway and had an exciting ride on a steam train.

The resulting art work reflected their experience. From paintings of train engines, what they saw from the carriage windows,

their reflections in the windows, people on the platform, drawings of children being evacuated in the war and the faces of others who would be travelling.

Not only was it good to see their work but it was also very interesting to hear some of the children talk about how they had produced it and the mediums they had used.

It was a very difficult task to pick the ones we thought the best.
