A Very Splashy Start to Our Himley Hall Spring Exhibition!

If you thought art was dramatic… wait until you hear what happened when we arrived at Himley Hall last Monday to deliver the artworks for our Spring Exhibition!

Picture this: car boots full of beautifully crafted paintings, sculptures lovingly bubble‑wrapped, artists buzzing with excitement… and then — SURPRISE! Himley Hall decided to host its very own indoor water feature.

Yes, a major water leak had turned parts of the venue into something between a paddling pool and a reflective art installation. Very avant‑garde… but not quite what we had planned.

So instead of the serene setup we imagined, last Monday morning became an episode of

“Art Meets Plumbing: The Untold Story.”

There were maintenance teams, dehumidifiers the size of small cows, and artists trying to decide whether their work would look better with “a light damp sheen.”

(For the record: no artworks were harmed. We guarded them like soggy but determined art ninjas.)

So what does this mean?

The grand opening of the Himley Hall Spring Exhibition had been delayed, but only by a little. Himley Hall worked quickly to dry everything out, mop everything up, and get the space ready for your beautiful creations and our lovely visitors.

The good news?

The exhibition is now open until 11 May  — and we now have a story more dramatic than anything hanging on the walls.

Thank you for your patience, humour, and willingness to dodge puddles in the name of art.

Spring may bring showers… but it also brings fabulous exhibitions.

And ours will be no exception!
