There’s something magical about pausing long enough to really see the world — the quiet poetry of everyday life, the rhythm of people going about their day, and the wild beauty of the natural world that surrounds us. For the past two years, artists Elizabeth Whitehouse and Simon Tew have been doing exactly that: observing, sketching, painting, refining, and celebrating the world as they each see it.
Now, their creative journeys come together in a brand‑new joint exhibition, “What a Wonderful World: Two Ways of Seeing”, hosted by the Rose Paterson Gallery at Weston Park.
Two Artists, Two Perspectives, One Wonderful World
Elizabeth and Simon bring contrasting yet beautifully complementary viewpoints:
- Elizabeth Whitehouse captures the gentle, human moments — everyday activities, familiar routines, and the quiet stories woven through people’s lives. Her work invites you to slow down and appreciate the small wonders that often pass unnoticed.
- Simon Tew turns his gaze to the natural world — wildlife, and the shifting moods of nature. His pieces celebrate the colours, textures, and vitality of the animal kingdom.
Together, their work forms a rich, uplifting tapestry of life. Two ways of seeing, two artistic voices, one shared celebration of the world around us.
Two Years in the Making
This exhibition has been a labour of love. After two years of planning, creating, and curating, it’s finally here — ready for visitors to enjoy. Whether you’re an art enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply someone who enjoys discovering something new, this exhibition offers a refreshing, heartfelt experience.
