April – Artist Jude Hanly An Exhibition of Untold Vistas

Exhibition Opens 28th March – 31st April

Jude is inspired and fascinated by nature, recalling places experienced or imagined as the work forms, creating from a place of no time, no space. She uses marks like an impressed memory, trying to recapture the essence of that moment.

Jude constructs images with multiple layering, but at the same time leaving space for surprise, for something unexpected to happen. Her paintings are created through a performative process of applying pigments, oils, creating pools, then tilting and manoeuvring the canvas. “Water is such a powerful force in shaping the natural landscape” and by using the fluidity of the paint in her process, resonates with ways in which the landscape is formed and eroded.

March – Artist Anne Nicholls

Exhibition Opens 28th February – 28th March

Anne Nicholls has been a member of Walsall Society of Artists for many years, and is an accomplished watercolourist. She is happiest when painting landscapes and florals.

February – Artist Steve Woodhams

Exhibition Opens 26th January – 28th February

Self Taught Artist

Steve is a Self Taught Artist, based in the West Midlands, Steve specialises in his own unique take on cubism and abstract art. Often taking inspiration from environmental and conservation issues, Steve will be equally moved to create a painting inspired by his inner thoughts, frustrations and personal day to day life.

Teases the Eye

Steve’s artwork teases the viewer’s eye and over time allows the viewer to interpret the painting and impart their own perspective. By a clever use of lines, creating a three dimensional space, they take the gaze of the audience across and then through the painting, on an otherwise two dimensional space.
