WSA AGM

At the society’s AGM last Thursday 9th Feb. the following members were elected to the committee.

Vice-Chairman: Mrs Pat Hoskisson

Secretary: Mrs Ann J Baggott

Treasurer: Mr Simon Tew

Membership Secretary: Mrs Sandra Gould

Programme Secretary: Mr Patrick Butler

Publications Secretary: Mr Edward Jones

Social Secretary: Mr David Burbidge

Website Manager/Newsletter Editor: Mrs Pam Renhard

Committee Members: Mrs Louise Platt,  Mrs Margaret McAtominey,  Mr Ken Worley,  Mr Malcolm Wood

Associate: Provider of Refreshments: Mrs Margaret McAtominey,  

                                       DVD Librarian: Mr David Burbidge

 

SUBSCRIPTIONS 2017: The Treasurer proposed that the Subscriptions be increased to £20.00p.a. due to increasing costs, commencing January 2018.                                                          Proposed by Mr P Butler Seconded by Mrs P Hoskisson.

This was eventually agreed to by the body of members in attendance at the meeting.

When you think that we usually have 11 meetings through the year where we have  demonstrators, 4 newsletters a year, information relayed via email,

WSA website and facebook and the opportunity to submit works for exhibition at such a prestigious venue as the New Art Gallery that £20 breaks down to

less than £2 a meeting. . Other societies often ask for much more and some ask for an annual subscription plus a payment at  each meeting.

Value for money I’d say.
