Thursday 8th August 2019, ADRIAN CLAMP demonstrates ‘Portraits in Acrylics’.

Local artist Adrian Clamp is our demonstrator on Thursday from 7.30 to 9.30pm.

Although he works in a variety of mediums using different subject matter, he will be demonstrating portrait painting using acrylics for us.

Clamp, Adrian; Self Portrait; Wolverhampton Arts and Heritage.

Adrian began exhibiting his works after leaving art college. On the strength of his exhibitions he gained his first job as a lecturer in art and design in Stafford, Walsall, Bournville, Sutton Coldfield and Wolverhampton.

Adrian works from observation and photographic material. Recent works deal with genetic engineering and how the body copes with trauma. He explores themes and ideas relating to social change, youth culture and life issues.

He looks at the interplay of photo-montage, mixed media and the painted image.

His landscapes are a series of collected images taken from all over the world and composed as  ‘capriccios’ (imaginative works that only exist on canvas).

Adrian runs the Clamp art group that meets on Mondays, in academic term time, 9.30 -12.00 am in Wolverhampton.
