THE GRANARY GALLERY, HANGING OUR ‘WALSALL TO WESTON’ EXHIBITION.
Posted on Jun 30, 2019WSA’s ‘Walsall to Weston’ exhibition, 29th June -30th July.
A big thank you to all the artists who managed to get to The Granary Gallery, Weston Park by the 10.30 deadline to deliver their works.
Selection took place as the works were being registered so the ‘hanging committee’ were able to crack on with their job earlier than originally thought.
Good job as there were ten walls to cover and 115 paintings to hang by 4pm.
With only a break for coffee and a biscuit the job was complete as the gallery staff were preparing to leave.
Visitor who came in as hanging was in progress were impressed by the variety of paintings exhibited and very complimentary about the standard of the works.
Making final adjustments The banner did prove to be a little awkward!!!
Our Walsall wall shows areas of the town from Barr Beacon to Birchills to Norton Common. It’s there to see, along with our Walsall Society of Artists banner, at the entrance to the exhibition.
We mean to get our name and work known.
We look forward to seeing many WSA members with friends and family at the Private Viewing on Sunday 7th July between 2 – 4pm.
We would like to thank Gareth Williams, Curator and Head of Learning, for allowing us this opportunity, and also Katherine Dowd who has dealt with all the required paper work and publicity from Weston Park.
