Our next organised trip is to Melbourne Arts Festival, Derbyshire. This is on Saturday 14th September.
Fingers crossed for decent weather as we’re hoping for a day packed with art, craft, music, workshops, culture and community spirit in the lovely village of Melbourne.

Oxford Trip
Our previous day out was to Oxford in July. We had a thoroughly enjoyable day. Although the plan was to visit the Ashmolean Museum some of us chose other venues within the citysuch as the Pitt Rivers Museum where we saw
Ma uka to Ma kai
An exhibition of quilting depicting the Hawaiian landscape It was exquisite. There were artefacts from all over the world: from dinosaurs, tiny bits of pottery to giant totem poles, a cape made of seal intestine etc, etc
We only ventured into two halls within the museum and they were mind blowing. We didn’t have the mental energy to take in any more.
After refreshing ourselves at the oldest pub in Oxford we eventually visited the Ashmolean for the final hour of our trip.
