SAA Warning
Posted on Jun 17, 2016The SAA are sending out emails to members warning them of a scam attempting to contact members via the SAA website.
I have been contacted by this ‘scammer’. The person said they were interested in my art works and would like to buy some for their daughter’s wedding and they would pay by Bank Check (the scam cannot work with PayPal apparently).
The sender was named as Sally Rise. No specific pictures were mentioned and the message was written in poor English, eg “Hi, Am Rise Sally”.
Fortunately I had received the warning email from SAA previously so did not respond to the scam. Even without the warning I would have been suspicious because of they way the mail was worded
The SAA emphasise that they never share data with third parties.
