Pastel painting demonstration by Mary Griffin. Thursday 12 October 2017.

WSA welcomes Mary Griffin as our demonstrator this week.

Mary Griffin, who studied art in Walsall and Birmingham, was elected a member of the Birmingham Pastel Society in 1998

and a member of the RBSA in 2001.

Although Mary works in all media she prefers to use pastels.  At times Mary combines pastel with acrylic paint or water colour to create certain  atmospheric effects.

She is probably known best for her figure and interior composition but she also produces paintings of landscapes and garden scenes.
