June Update

On Thursday 8th June we had John Maule-Finch demonstrate for us. The photograph he worked from appeared rather flat and uninspiring to most but as he applied his washes and deep shadows the painting became alive. Here’s the final work which John has now  completed and shared with us.

‘Afternoon Light’,
John Maule -Finch.

Tonight, 20th June, the Monday afternoon art group from Parkhall Community Association  are having a Preview of their exhibition at The Fingerpost,

York’s Foundry Bridge, Norton Rd, Pelsall, Walsall WS3 5AU.

Everyone is welcome to come along to view the works  between 6 and 8 pm.

A few  items to take us into July.

1.
Himley
The response for submissions for our Himley Hall Exhibition hasn’t been great. If you would like to submit but haven’t contacted me there is still a week in which to do so. If you only have one or two works that are suitable why not enter them?
I have received the paperwork from Himley requiring titles , mediums and prices so I do need that information ASAP.
Thank you to members who have already sent their details.

2.
Patchings
As we have a 53 seater coach booked , from a well-known company, to take us to Patchings we have some spare seats.
I shall be ordering the entrance tickets  next Friday, 23rd, so there’s almost a weeks grace to let me know if you want to join us for the day, or bring a friend/s. The total cost for the day is £35.
If you do wish to make a late booking send your name and address, with a cheque for the number of places, to

B.Withers, 25 Wolverhampton Road, Essington, West Mids., WV11 2BX  (see the last newsletter for the form)

It’s always been a good day out with the opportunity to meet and talk to various artists and, try out and buy new art materials.
Any queries about it email me.
