Venue: Buxton Museum & Art Gallery, Terrace Road, Buxton, Derbyshire SK17 6DA.
Details: Open exhibition for amateur and professional artists of all ages. Up to two works on a Derbyshire theme may be submitted, entry is free. Top prize worth £750 and work usually acquired for the museum’s collections.
Exhibition dates: June 25 to September 2. Handing-in day: June 11 to 12.

Weston Park Granary Art Gallery
National Fine Art Open Competition 2016

Staffordshire Open
Venue: Shire Hall Gallery, Market Square, Stafford ST16 2LD. Tel: 01785 278345
Details: Competition for artists born, living, working or studying in Staffordshire. All work should be for sale. Up to two works may be entered in all media, including painting, sculpture, photography, film and animation.
Exhibition dates: May 14 to July 3.Handing-in: April 22 and 23.

I know that both of their exhibition diaries are filled till well into 2017 but if you don’t get your name down you’ll never get on the list. Park Hall painters group, run by WSA member Ann Hacket, has an exhibition at The Atrium Gallery, opening this week and closing Sat, 21st May. This is followed by an exhibition by ‘A Trio of Artists’ from 23rd May to 2nd July. The trio consists of me, Babs Withers and Margaret Jennings, all WSA members. You are all welcome to the preview evening – date to be arranged.
