My practice as an Autistic Oriental Artist is inspired by my special interest in “Japan” and my deep-rooted connection to nature. I originally trained in the sciences and although I am no longer in that line of work, my knowledge of physics and chemistry still plays a part in guiding my creative spirit.
Born under the Capricorn star sign, I constantly strive for perfection and precision in my work, while embracing the unexpected and organic flow of my materials. Using a wide range of techniques from both “Sumi-E“ (su-mi-eh) Japanese ink painting and “xiěyì” (shi-ay-ee) Chinese Brush Painting methods, I seek to explore the delicate balance between structure and fluidity, order and chaos.
My paintings are an expression of the harmonious dance between the elements of yin and yang, using meticulous brushstrokes and balanced negative space to evoke a sense of serenity and contemplation. Each creation explores the deepest, innermost thoughts of my autistic Japanese spirit revealing itself through the lines and strokes of time-honoured Oriental ink painting techniques.
Through my artistic practice, I aim to captivate and enlighten viewers with the timeless and ethereal essence of Oriental art.
